Medical authorities in the U.K. view blood transfusions as a cause for concern, as well as being beneficial.

Apostasy endorsed in this yesterday's Watchtower Study
by doubtfull1799 in“there may be occasions when it would be good for us to reconsider a choice or decision.
it could be when the prevailing circumstances change.
jehovah altered his decision at times when circumstances changed.

Just as SKIN says - double-speak is the WTBTS's fundamental M.O.
My favourite is the one where they preach out of one side of their mouth about Christ's reign being so wonderful.........................
w15 10/15 pp. 19-20 par. 6 - "For example, consider the "Photo-Drama of Creation,"........which concluded by describing the coming, peaceful Thousand Year Reign of Jesus Christ."
w14 1/15 p. 16 par. 15 - "After the Messianic King destroys God’s enemies, he will throw Satan and his demons into an abyss for a thousand years.......The entire earth [during the 1000 years] will reflect the paradise conditions of the garden of Eden.
w08 2/15 p. 28 par. 7 - "....peaceful rest and other blessings that mankind will experience under the Thousand Year Reign of Christ..."
w03 1/15 p. 6 - "Only after Satan is hurled into the abyss of inactivity will the Thousand Year Reign of Jesus Christ begin. What a delightful place this earth will then be! Gone will be wickedness and those who cause it."
........while out the other side of their mouth they say this -
bh p. 214 par. 3; "Those resurrected thus come to life with a clean slate, so to speak. Thus, individuals will be judged on the basis of what they do during Judgment Day."
uw chap. 9 p.76 par.12; "They will be "judged individually according to their deeds" performed after their resurrection."
w82 4/1 p. 25 par. 18; "Both "those who did good things" and "those who practiced vile things" will be among "those dead" who will be "judged individually according to their deeds" performed after their resurrection."
w78 9/1 p. 22 par. 9; "There will then be two outcomes possible. As Jesus indicated, at John 5:28, 29, they will either turn to the course of doing good things or turn to the practicing of vile things."
Come on "faithless & corrupt slave," make up your mind. Which one is Jesus going to use? The "iron rod" of Revelation 2:27 or a piñata stick?

Jerusalem's destruction.....
by Unstuck inhello all - so me and stuckinarut2 are at the state library proving to ourselves that wt has it all wrong re: 607. i've read at length jwfacts, jwsurvey and crisis of conscience that all go into the subject and i've just downloaded gentile times reconsidered.. while it is fabulous to have someone else compile all the research and evidence for you, it is quite another to see it in print for yourself - and so, here we are.. while we wait for our array of books i couldn't help but share with you how the state library has catalogued jewish history - 586 bc to 70 ad.
no mention of 607 as a key date as far as the library's catalogue is concerned!!
evidence before we have our books!!.

Sadly, all this factual data will not and cannot be reasoned upon by the vast majority of J.W.'s who are now dumbed down by "the two greatest commandments" - obey the org & believe the org! They will simply dismiss such historians as being inaccurate - as other historians have also been.
Which is why I personally feel that exposing blatant anti-Bible teachings such as confession to 3 elders, "new" scrolls, and the "great tribulation" myth have more chance of success with folks whose thinking has been blunted.

Reaction of Governing Body Belies More than their Accusation
by carefullyread ina disfellowshiped brother wrote a letter of disquisition to the governing body of wbts a little while ago.
it was not in any way nasty, derogatory, rude, blasphemous, or with profanity but it was civil, truthful, & very informative that some have described as extremely truthful to enlightening, an ebullient disclosure.
i got to see some paraphrases extracted from it that have been circulating quietly or rather secretly passed around & i agree with the latter description.. the governing body was greatly perturbed, alarmed, to confused with this letter particularly as they became aware several of the congregation were also sent copies which some of the local congregational elders raised controversial questions about but mainly was dismissed by them without reading, to scoffing & ridicule but some also saw something more truthful to concern them.

SIR82 hit the nail on the head: the G.B. couldn't care less what any individual or group of J.W.'s thought or said about the org's doctrines and practices.
That's why each G.B. member has their own little worker-bees - to save them from dealing with the peasants whose only reason for existence is to serve and obey the golden calf of the WTBTS.

Which Watchtower publications did you keep?
by Schnufti ini'm currently cleaning up our bookcase and need to decide what goes into the trash.
i'll keep the watchtower books that are not available online anymore (e.g.
the brown "reasoning" book).

I'm just keeping the older WT CD Libraries. That's more than enough to hold onto.
J.W.'s will readily dismiss older publications as "old light," so storing loads of the org's "decomposed spiritual food" seems like a waste of space and time.

This is a txt message I just had with a JW
by joe134cd inthe following is a txt message i just had with a jw about why i decided not to attend meeting.
i fully realize that this will get me blocked.. jw : you dont want to answer me why you dont go to the meetings.. joe : ok.. (1) the 2 witness rule in the handling of a accusations of child sex abuse.. (2)the covering it up and out of court settlements that they are making to victims of sexual abuse.
unfortunatley the brothers and sisters are totally unaware of what is going on and the magnitude of it.. (3) the comments of geoffrey jackson when testifying before the australian royal commision on its handling of child sex abuse.

Putting any thoughts about the org's lies & corruption down in an email/letter/text message to an active J.W. is the biggest no-no for any fading J.W.
One to one discussion - yes, but never put anything in print. I hope your contact doesn't do the dirty on you.

Would You EVER Go Back To Being A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ini could never understand why some people who know the truth about the "truth" ever go back.
once you understand all the hypocrisy and negatives, i would think it's almost impossible to go back!.

Anyone doing so is to be pitied.
As FTS said -
(Proverbs 26:11) "Like a dog that returns to its vomit, The stupid one repeats his foolishness."

Toshibabadu, welcome to the forum.
Steve2 nailed it - anonymous communications should be ignored and dismissed.
On the other hand, when the org's zealots come looking for you personally, have an effective "conversation stopper" ready. Otherwise, they will persist in trying to get information out of you - information which they will use to deal out "discipline" for abandoning the cult.
Simple but 100% effective - "I appreciate your concern, but there's nothing I can talk about at the moment. If things change, I'll call you. Thank you."
J.W. mentality demands that they must know "why you left the truth!" They hate loose ends, because loose ends make their "brotherhood of love" look very ragged - which it is.

Hanging out with JWs is exhausting!
by StephaneLaliberte innot long ago, there was a funeral for a sister i haven’t know very much, so i did not attend.
however, some old “friends” i know drove down to town to assist and i ended up spending some time with them.
quite honestly, i was happy to see them again.

Being a J.W. nowadays means living a life of "walking on eggshells", because any one of your conditional friends is likely to stick a knife in your back if you cast aspersions on anything org-related.
It's become the religious equivalent of North Korea.
